LiquidPlanner Classic/Portfolio Manager Migration FAQ

In the Spring of 2021, we launched Portfolio Manager, a bold re-envisioning of our Classic product in a modern interface built to scale. As we continue to evolve our product ecosystem within the Tempo family, we have updated our retirement timelines. We formally announce that LiquidPlanner Classic will be retired on December 31, 2026, and Portfolio Manager will follow, sunsetting on December 31, 2027.

For customers currently using Jira or looking to consolidate their tech stack, this sunset provides an opportunity to transition to Tempo’s modular solutions on the Atlassian Marketplace, which offer a powerful, integrated alternative to LiquidPlanner’s legacy features.

Yes. LiquidPlanner Classic is sunsetting on December 31, 2026, and will no longer be supported after that date.

Yes. Portfolio Manager is scheduled to sunset on December 31, 2027. We recommend users begin planning their transition to our integrated Tempo and Jira solutions well in advance.

Since LiquidPlanner is now part of the Tempo family, we recommend Jira users explore the Tempo Suite on the Atlassian Marketplace. These tools are designed to replicate and enhance the LiquidPlanner experience directly within Jira:

Structure PPM: Replaces the deep folder hierarchies and portfolio-level oversight of Portfolio Manager.

Tempo Capacity Planner: Replaces predictive resource load balancing and capacity heatmaps.

Tempo Timesheets: The industry-leading solution for time tracking and "Actuals" reporting.

Structure Gantt: Provides the visual, dependency-based timelines and roadmaps essential for project forecasting.

Our Product Experts are ready to discuss your specific needs—whether you are moving to Portfolio Manager or transitioning to the Tempo/Jira ecosystem. Please book a migration review meeting as soon as possible to secure a transition date prior to the 2026 and 2027 deadlines.

The legacy infrastructure of Classic and Portfolio Manager cannot deliver the advanced resource management, speed, and cross-platform integration (such as native Jira syncing) that our customers require. Focusing on the Tempo Atlassian Suite allows us to deliver the next generation of scalable solutions.

LiquidPlanner Classic: Supported until December 31, 2026.

Portfolio Manager: Supported until December 31, 2027. To ensure data security and continuity, please migrate to Portfolio Manager or the Tempo Jira Suite before these dates.

We would hate to lose you as a customer, but if you choose not to migrate to our modern platforms or the Atlassian Marketplace alternatives, you should export your workspace data prior to the sunset dates.

Standard data migration to our modern platforms is FREE. For customers choosing to transition to Tempo products on the Atlassian Marketplace, our team can provide guidance on licensing tiers and implementation services to ensure your Jira environment is configured correctly.
